Joel Springer provides bookkeeping and accounting support to many of GMA’s client foundations, ensuring that their accounting records are accurate and well-organized for review by auditors & tax accountants. With a decade of work experience at GMA, Joel is an adept multitasker; depending on a client’s needs, he may be paying bills, posting investment activity, depositing & tracking restricted donations, or reporting to Boards on payout requirements, tax rate estimates, and other financial matters. He has been known to get much satisfaction from solving puzzling investment statements and designing effective reports.

Stemming from his interest in environmental and social justice issues, Joel has been following recent developments in socially responsible investing. He serves on GMA’s 401K investment committee, where he sometimes translates financial jargon into plain English. Joel is an accomplished musician and has taught music lessons part-time at the same high school since 2001.
